I wanted to share this with you fine Art Educators. Using blogs for our classes has another benefit - I can still look to your blogs for ideas and inspiration even after I've left Mizzou. I hadn't heard about the Google Art Project before and I plan to use it alot with my classes this year. I'm going to be teaching 8th grade and High School Art classes so I was planning on having an Artist of the Month and have the students all contribute info about the Artist so we can create our own Wikipedia only as an Artist-pedia. I still plan to do that in a way but with all the examples I can show them from Google Art Project I may make it an Artist of the Week and I'm going to keep a slide show of the Artist work going all week - except when I need to use the computer.
Awesome Ideas keep popping in my head and I can thank you all for inspiring many of them. Let's keep in touch and I'll let you know how my classes are going.

This is the object I found that relates to mine.
I thought about the human eye as both our view of the world but also as the expressive and aesthetically beautiful part of the human face. We also say things like "eyes are the windows to the soul" and we do express ourselves in our eyes. When creating any animate object in my Art I always think about seeing that it appears to be alive and has a spirit or soul. In any Art that represents life the eyes could be important, looking out at the viewer as if they are alive.
The object of Art
I had trouble narrowing my ideas down for our assignment. Everything around us on this planet is used as material, inspiration and ideas, and represented physically, symbolically or related to conceptually, so I want to say the world is our studio and everything can be an object of art.
